ERASMUS+ Project Cycle 3 Quality Assurance System
Promoting internationalization of research through establishment and operationalization of Cycle 3 Quality Assurance System in line with the European Integration Agenda / C3QA
The C3QA project will contribute to the establishment of a knowledge-based society in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Ukraine through the launch and operationalization of a robust quality assurance system for internationalization of Cycle 3 programs. The specific objectives are:
- To develop/update national policy frameworks for cycle 3 programs in line with the European integration agenda;
- To build on the capacity of the systems to efficiently operationalize the internal and external quality assurance systems for Cycle 3 programs;
- To establish an external and internal quality assurance systems to promote quality of Cycle 3 programs (leading to PhD degree);
- To promote internationalization of Cycle 3 programs with joint efforts of the key stakeholders and cross-regional cooperation.
Special care was taken to establish a cross-regional carefully selected consortium including both Eastern European and Central Asian countries that had the same socialist legacy and issues in the system. The primary beneficiaries are the national level authorities, HEIs, faculty members and administrative staff, as well as Cycle 3 students. Inclusion of government institutions in the project consortium promises a successful project implementation, high level of sustainable development and local ownership.
As for the EU partners, examples of institutional good practice, clear criteria for award of PhD, internal and external quality assurance practice, achieving and checking alignment with the NQFs will be made available through involvement of competent and experienced EU partners in the consortium.
Expected main Outcomes
The accomplishment of the project’s objectives will lead to the development and establishment of Quality Assurance Systems in partner countries, particularly including the following components:
- Regulatory frameworksfor Quality Assurance (QA) of cycle 3 programs;
- National level guidelines, standards and procedures of QA for cycle 3 programs approved by the national authorities;
- At least one cycle 3 program in each of 9 participating HEIs are pilot accredited by partner country EQA bodies,
- Participating HEIs are equipped with necessary Quality Assurance equipment
About C3QA Project Coordinator
“French University in Armenia” Foundation (UFAR) is an institution of higher education established in 2000 by the Governments of France and Armenia aimed at implementing the French and European higher education experience to Armenia. UFAR simultaneously awards its graduates double state diplomas, recognized both in Armenia and in France which allows them to pursue their education or career in Armenia, France or elsewhere in Europe.
As a result of successful adaptation of French and European management, teaching and learning approaches within the local social and economic context and strong relationship with professional environment UFAR enjoys a high rate of graduate employment, which comprised more than 82% according to a survey conducted in 2016. Since 2013, each year one week of teaching mobility to Armenia of 70 teachers from academic partner University Jean-Moulin Lyon 3 is organized. Besides, seven-week internship of student is organized in France and Belgium.
Actually, UFAR is coordinating TEMPUS “Promoting quality and recognition of transnational education in Armenia and Georgia” project within 18 institutions in consortium, representing Armenia, Georgia, France, United Kingdom, Germany, and Belgium. Moreover, UFAR is also the coordinator of recently awarded Erasmus+ C3QA project within 21 institutions from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Ukraine, France, Spain and Poland.
