אורה

אוֹרָה הוא מושב הנמצא דרומית מערבית לירושלים אשר נוסד בשנת 1950 על ידי יוצאי תימן ויוצאי מרוקו אשר עלו יחד והתערבבו עם השנים. השם אורה הוא סמלי, צורה עברית ממגילת אסתר ומהתפילה על פי צליל שמו של הכפר הערבי אל-ג'ורה (Al-Jura الجورة) שהיה במקום עד מלחמת העצמאות. במהלך השנים עברו חברי המושב מעיסוק בחקלאות לעיסוקים אחרים. המושב שוכן על הר אורה שגובהו 848 מטרים מעל פני הים, אחת הפסגות הגבוהות בהרי ירושלים. בשטח ההר מתחם לשלוש הדתות שנבנה ביוזמת מיס קרי. שמו הערבי של ההר היה ראס א-רב, כלומר - הר האדון. הנוצרים מכנים אותו "הר הביקור", על שם ביקורה של מרים אמו של ישו את אלישבע, אמו של יוחנן המטביל. המקדש של מיס קרי נמצא כיום בשטח בסיס צבאי. האוכלוסייה בישוב חילונית והתושבים הנם יוצאי תימן ומרוקו במושב נמצא מוסד "מסילה" לנערות בסיכון.
