אוכלוסיה מושב עובדים שמשתייך לתנועת המושבים. נוסד ב- 1952 ע"י עולים מכורדיסטאן שבצפון עיראק. בירדנה 63 משקים חקלאיים, האוכלוסייה מונה כ - 370 תושבים. בתוכנית: הרחבת היישוב בכ-100 יחידות דיור נוספות לבנים ממשיכים ולצעירים מהאזור ומהארץ. . חינוך ילדי המושב לומדים בבתי הספר האזוריים: דקלים, שק"ד, וגאון הירדן. חלק מהתלמידים לומד בבית-שאן. הפעילות הבלתי-פורמלית: בשעות אחה"צ מתקיימת פעילות במתנ"ס המשותף, באמצעות מדריך בכיר, מורות חיילות ומדצ"ים. במושב מתפקדת וועדת חינוך האחראית לכל פעולות החינוך והתרבות ביישוב. תעסוקה 20 אחוזים מהחברים במושב עוסקים בחקלאות, בעיקר חקלאות מתקדמת בענף החממות לגידולי ירקות ותבלינים. סה"כ ביצוע שתילות בבתי צמיחה מגיעים ללכ-230 דונם. כמחציתם תבלינים והשאר ירקות וכרם מכוסה. כמו-כן קיימים 5 משקים שמנהלים משק חי כגון: רפת, דיר, לולים ותוכים. לכל משק 35 דונם לעיבוד חקלאי, כולל מכסות מים, ועוד כ-10 דונם לגידולים משותפים Population smallholders belonged to the seats.
