ومن أعظم ما يُقوّي الإيمان ويَجلبُهُ معرفة أسماء الله الحُسنى الواردة في الكتاب والسنة، والحرص على فهم معانيها، والتعبد لله بها، قال الله تعالى: " وَلله الأَسْمَاءُ الْـحُسْنَى فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُواْ الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي أَسْمَآئِهِ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ "، وقد ثبت في الصحيحين من حديث أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم أنه قال: ((إن لله تسعة وتسعين اسماً مائةً إلا واحداً من أحصاها دخل الجنة)) أي من حفظها، وفهم معانيها ومدلولها، وأثنى على الله بها، وسأله بها، واعتقدها دخل الجنة. والجنة لا يدخلها إلا المؤمنون. فَعُلِمَ أن ذلك أعظم ينبوع ومادة لحصول الإيمان، وقوَّته وثباته. ومعرفة الأسماء الحُسنى - بمراتبها الثلاث: إحصاء ألفاظها وعددها، وفهم معانيها ومدلولها، ودعاء الله بها. دعاء الثناء والعبادة، ودعاء المسألة - هي أصل الإيمان والإيمان يرجع إليها؛ لأن معرفتها تتضمن أنواع التوحيد الثلاثة: توحيد الربوبية، وتوحيد الألوهية، وتوحيد الأسماء والصفات، وهذه الأنواع هي روح الإيمان، وأصله وغايته، فكلما ازداد العبد معرفة بأسماء الله وصفاته ازداد إيمانُه، وقوي يقينهُ. فينبغي للمؤمن أن يبذل مقدوره ومستطاعه في معرفة الله بأسمائه، وصفاته، وأفعاله. من غير تعطيل، ولا تمثيل، ولا تحريف، ولا تكييف. بل تكون المعرفة مُتلقَّاة من الكتاب والسنة، وما رُويَ عن الصحابة والتابعين لهم بإحسان. فهذه هي المعرفة النافعة التي لا يزال صاحبها في زيادة في إيمانه، وقوة يقينه، وطُمأنينة في أحواله، ومحبة لربه، فمن عرف الله بأسمائه، وصفاته، وأفعاله أحبه لا محالة؛ ولهذا كانت المعطلة، والفرعونية، والجهميّة قُطَّاع الطريق على القلوب بينها وبين الوصول إلى محبة الله تعالى.
