إدريس بن محمد أبكر ولد بمدينة جدة عام 1395 هـ، درس القرآن الكريم منذ الصغر حيث بدأ أولى مراحله في مسجد التوحيد وهو لم يتجاوز الثامنة من عمره وعاد والتحق بحلقات التحفيظ وهو إبن الثالثة عشر بجامع الفطاني، وحفظ القرآن الكريم خلال أربع سنوات من التحاقه بهذا الجامع وبدأ بإمامة المصلين به قرابة الثلاث سنوات وكان للأستاذ والمربي الفاضل يوسف الأحمدي الفضل على شيخنا بعد فضل الله تعالى، كما درس على أيدي كثير من المعلمين الكرام ومن بينهم على سبيل المثال لا الحصر الأستاذ: يوسف الأحمدي - عبد الوهاب الأحمدي - عادل الأحمدي - عوده الظاهري - عبد الله القرني - هادي سعيد، والشيخ دائمآ ما يذكر فضلهم عليه ووقوفهم معه وعنايتهم به فجزاهم الله خير الجزاء في الدارين. وتنقل الشيخ مابين بعض جوامع مدينة جده منها: جامع الفطاني ,إبن تيمية والمشهور بجامع القحاطيين , أسيد إبن الحضير , إبن القيم , وجامع سليم الحربي , وجامع باجابر وحالياً يؤم بجامع الشيخ زايد الكبير بأبوظبي .
