النشيد الوطني العماني-National anthem of Oman

سلطة عمان دولة آسيوية تقع في الناحية الجنوبية الشرقية من شبه الجزيرة العربية، وتحتل المرتبة الثالثة من حيث المساحة مقارنة مع بقية دول شبه الجزيرة، إذ تبلغ مساحتها 309,500كم²، نظام حكمها سلطاني وراثي، وأهم ورادتها الاقتصادية من النفط في المقام الأول، ثم الزراعة والصيد البحري، وأما حدودها فتحدها من الجهة الغربية السعودية، ومن الجهة الجنوبية الغربية اليمن، ومن الشمال الشرقي بحر عمان، ومن الجنوب المحيط الهندي
تسمى سلطة عمان في النصوص السومرية باسم مجان؛ لأنّها اشتهرت بصناعة السفن والنحاس، ومزون بسبب وفرة المياه الجارية فيها، وأما اسم عُمان فقد اختلفت الروايات حول سبب تسميتها، فهناك رأي يرجح أنه اسم مكان في اليمن، أو أنه نسبة إلى عُمان بن إبراهيم الخليل عليه السلام، وهناك رأي ثالث يفيد بأن منسوب إلى عُمان بن سبأ بن يغثان بن إبراهيم.

اعتُمِد العلم العماني بتاريخ 17 كانون الأول ديسمبر عام 1970م بقرار من السلطان الحاكم آنذاك، فكان عبارة عن قطعة قماش مستطيلة الشكل، تتكون من ثلاث وحدات أفقية وأخرى عمودية، الثلث العمودي بمحاذاة السارية لونه أحمر، وفي الربع الأعلى منه شعار الدولة بالأبيض، وهو عبارة عن سيفين وخنجر، ويرمز إلى السلاح التقليدي للشعب العماني، وأما الوحد الأفقية فلونها يتنوع ما بين الأبيض في الأعلى ويرمز إلى الرخاء والأمن السلم، والأحمر في الوسط، وهو متصل مع الثلث العمودي بمحاذاة السارية، ويرمز إلى الدم والحروب التي ناضل خلالها الشعب العماني لدحر الاحتلال، واللون الأخضر في الأسفل يرمز إلى خصوبة التربة، وغناها بالإنتاج الزراعي.
