يقرأ صباحاً ومساءً لدفع العدو وكل ذى شر وعقد لسان الخصم وان قرئ فى زمن الطاعون وقصد دفع ذلك عن نفسه وعمن يقصد حفظه فإن اللـه يدفع عنه وعمن قصد حفظه شر ذلك كله ويقرأ فى الطرقات المخيفة وعند الدخول على الجبابرة فإنه أمان من كل مخوف بإذن اللـه تعالى. وهذا الحزب لا يقرأه القارىء إلا للتحصين أو للحفظ من أعداء اللـه أو من القواطع التى تقطعه عن اللـه وفى كل الأحوال لا يحق له أن يقرأه على مسلم. أما إن فعل فإنه يرتد ضرر نيته عليه قال تعالى: "وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلا يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلا خَسَارًا" [الإسراء : 82]."
