إن الله سبحانه وتعالى يحب الدعاء: وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَسورة غافر:60، فجعل الدعاء عبادة وأخبر أن الذي يستكبر عنه سيدخل جهنم.

وهذا من أخص خصوصيات العبودية في معانيها؛ فإن المسلم عليه أن يظهر عبوديته لربه، في معاملة المخلوق مع الخالق يظهر المخلوق افتقاره وعجزه وحاجته، فهو يظهر أنه بحاجة إلى ربه، وهذا الافتقار عبادة عظيمة، الدعاء صميم العبادة، كيف طبقه الأنبياء؟ كيف عملوا به؟ ماذا قال الصالحون في أدعيتهم؟.
هذه قضية مهمة جداً في حياة الإنسان المسلم أن يتعرف عليها؛ لأن هؤلاء سيختارون أفضل الأدعية، وأعظم الأدعية، أفضل المعاني،
وأعظم المطلوبات، الطريقة العظيمة في الدعاء، ماذا سيختار من الألفاظ؟ كيف سيطلب؟ كيف سيتوجه؟ بأي كلام؟ ما هو الذي سيقوله؟ ما هو الذي سيطلبه؟ هل سيتوسل بشيء بين يدي الطلب؟ ما هو هذا الشيء؟.
ليس هناك أحسن من أدعية الأنبياء والصالحين، الناس يطلبون، وكثير منهم يدعون، لكن الطريقة التي يدعون بها ربما يكون فيها خلل يفوت مقصوده، وربما يغفلون عن أشياء أهم، ويطلبون ويدعون بأشياء أقل أهمية
ولذلك كان التمعن في دعاء الأنبياء والصالحين موضوعاً في غاية في الأهمية بالنسبة إلينا.
