عيد الفطر أول أعياد المسلمين والذي يحتفل فيه المسلمون في أول يوم من أيام شهر شوال ثم يليه عيد الأضحى في شهر ذي الحجة. وعيد الفطر يأتي بعد صيام شهر رمضان ويكون أول يوم يفطر فيه المسلمون بعد صيام شهر كامل ولذلك سمي بعيد الفطر. أول عيد فطر احتفل فيه المسلمون في الإسلام كان في السنة الثانية للهجرة حيث أن أول رمضان صامه المسلمون كان في السنة الثانية للهجرة. ويحرم صيام أول يوم من أيام عيد الفطر.

Eid al-Fitr, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The religious Eid is a single day during which Muslims are not permitted to fast.

The first Eid al-Fitr Muslim holiday in which Muslims celebrate the first day of the month of Shawwal, then followed by the Eid al-Adha in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah. The Eid al-Fitr comes after the fasting month of Ramadan and the first day when Muslims break the fast after the fasting month of full therefore called Eid al-Fitr. The first festival mushroom when Muslims celebrated in Islam was in the second year of migration since the beginning of Ramadan Muslims had fasted in the second year of migration. Fasting deprives the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
