• الحاجة الطبية النفسية قبل الحرب لم تكن تكفي لأكثر من 10% من حاجة المجتمع المحلي له .
• عدد الأطباء النفسين في سوريا كان 120 طبيباً
• لا وجود لمعالجين نفسيين (معالجة غير دوائية)
• حسب بيانات منظمة الصحة العالمية يجب أن يكون لكل 1000 شخص 3 أسرّة نفسية في كل بلد، وبالتالي يجب أن يكون هناك حوالي 60 ألف سرير نفسي، ولكن الموجود فعلياً يشكّل أقل بكثير من عشر العدد المطلوب من الأسرّة..
- في كل سوريا يوجد مستشفيين نفسيين تخصصيتين هما: ابن سينا في دمشق، وابن خلدون في حلب.. بالإضافة إلى مستشفيين خاصين فقط.
• نتيجة الظروف الاستثنائية تضاعفت الحاجة النفسية بين 3 - 4 أضعاف
• انخفض عدد الأطباء النفسيين إلى 72 طبيباً فقط بسبب الهجرة، و هذا العدد قليل جداً فهو لا يكفي لمقابلة المرضى ذوي الحالات النفسية الشديدة إلا مرتين في السنة، وغير قادر على تقديم الخدمة المطلوبة.

• ومع ذلك فإن عدد الأطباء النفسيين في سوريا هو أقل بكثير من باقي الاختصاصات الأخرى!
• نسبة مرضى الفصام مثلاً في أي مجتمع تصل إلى 1% وهذا يعني وجود حوالي 200000 فصامي سوري، يحتاجون ل 500 طبيب نفسي على الأقل!! وهذا في الحالة الطبيعية لأي مجتمع.
• فكيف بعد الحرب المدمرة التي نعيشها
• الأعداد التي تفرزها الحرب من المحتاجين للعلاج النفسي كثيرة جدا لا إحصائيات دقيقة لها
من هي الفئات الأكثر تضرراً بالحرب
• الأطفال الذين خبروا العنف مباشرة
• الأطفال الذين فقدوا آباءهم
• النساء اللواتي فقدن أزواجهن أو أبناءهن
• المصابون بعجز دائم ما نتيجة إصابتهم بالمعارك أو بالقذائف
• الذين فقدوا أحد أفراد أسرتهم أو شهدوا المعارك مباشرة
• حالات الصدمات النفسية للأطفال أو الراشدين
من أين يبدأ الحل
• إذا كان واقع العلاج النفسي قبل الحرب أقل من متواضع
• إذا لم نتمكن كمعالجين نفسيين من استصدار قانون أو مؤسسة تدرب وتخرج معاجين نفسيين
• إذا لم يُسمح إلا للأطباء النفسيين بالعلاج وعلاجهم دوائي فقط
• ماذا يفعل من يحتاج لعلاج نفسي غير دوائي
