يعتقد الفنان الممثل كريم محسن المقيم ان أسباب عدم انتشار الدراما العراقية في العالم العربي رغم وجود الإمكانيات الفنية، والقدرات الجيدة، تكمن في ان الدراما العراقية تعاني من محدودية الإنتاج، كما ان النصوص الدرامية التي تتناول واقع المجتمع العراقي والحياة العراقية يجب أن تكتب بشكل صحيح.

يؤمن الفنان كريم محسن المقيم في سوريا أن الفن يفرض نفسه ولا تستطيع الحكومات والدول أن تصنع فنا وتنهض بواقعه، رغم إقراره بأهمية وجود الدعم من قبل المؤسسات التي تعنى بالثقافة والفنون.

وعن المسلسلات والأعمال التلفزيونية العراقية التي قدمت خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية وأنتجت معظمها في سوريا، يقول الفنان كريم محسن أن جميع هذه الأعمال الفنية كانت تحمل رسالة حب وخير ونبذ العنف، لكنها لم تستطيع أن تعبر عن القضية العراقية بشكل صحيح، معربا عن أمله في أن تساهم الدراما العراقية في إنتاج أعمال مهمة جدا وضخمة لإيصال رسائل توعية وتثقيف ولعب دور أكبر في حياة العراق والعراقيين.

وأعرب الفنان كريم محسن عن أسفه للصور البائسة التي تظهر بها الدراما العراقية على بعض القنوات التلفزيونية بشكل غير مدروس، ويأمل أن يقدم عملا ضخما يليق بتاريخ الدراما العراقية وسمعتها.

ولد الفنان كريم محسن في مدينة الناصرية ومن ثم انتقل وعائلته إلى بغداد وبدأ اهتمامه بالتمثيل منذ الصغر، إذ كان يشارك في معظم الفعاليات الفنية المدرسية.

في منتصف سبعينيات القرن العشرين التحق بمعهد الفنون الجميلة، وبعد حصوله على دبلوم في الفنون المسرحية، قرر أن يكمل دراسته الأكاديمية في كلية الفنون الجميلة. وبعد تخرجه من كلية الفنون الجميلة عام 1991 قدم العديد من التمثيليات والمسلسلات التلفزيونية نذكر منها "ذئاب الليل" و"أيام التحدي", و"المواطن G " و"قميص من حلك الذيب" و"مليشيا الحب" و"المتنبي". وشارك في العديد من المسلسلات الإذاعية والمهرجانات الفنية العربية.

ويؤكد الفنان كريم محسن أنه تعلم الكثير على يد أساتذته الفنانين في الكلية منهم: قاسم محمد، وبهنام ميخائيل، وأساتذة مصريين، وقدم مع زملائه مجموعة من الأعمال المسرحية التي يعتبرها متميزة، وبعدها واصل تقديم الأعمال المسرحية والإذاعية والتلفزيونية مع الفرقة القومية للمثيل.

من أبرز أعماله المسرحية: "المومياء" و"عطيل" و"ألف أمنية وأمنية" و "هاملت بلا هاملت" و"البهلوان"، كما برز في تمثيله ادواراً مختلفة في مسلسلات "إعلان حالة حب" و"بيوت الصفيح" و"الشيخة" و"قنبر علي".

معظم المسلسلات التي شارك فيها كريم محسن صورت في دمشق حيث يقيم الفنان منذ 2006 بعد أن إضطر لترك العراق بسبب أعمال العنف. ويؤكد الفنان أن سوريا شهدت خلال السنوات الماضية انتعاشا للدراما العراقية، وذلك لأسباب عدة منها الأمان الذي يفتقده الفنانون العراقيون في العراق، وتوفر عناصر الإنتاج والتقنيات الحديثة في التصوير وتوفر الكهرباء بشكل مستمر.

يرى الفنان كريم محسن أن أجواء العمل في سوريا لا تشعر الفنانين العراقيين بالغربة بل هي قريبة من الأجواء العراقية، ويعتقد بأن الإنسان يشعر بالغربة أحيانا حتى وهو داخل وطنه. The artist Karim Mohsen lamented the wretched of the images shown by the Iraqi drama on some TV channels unexpectedly thoughtful, and hopes to offer considerable work on the Iraqi drama befitting its reputation.

Karim Mohsen artist was born in the city of Nasiriyah and then moved with his family to Baghdad and began his interest in acting since childhood, since he was involved in most of the technical school events.

In the mid-seventies of the twentieth century, he joined the Institute of Fine Arts, and after earning a diploma in performing arts, he decided to complete his academic studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts. After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1991, he made many plays and television series, among them "wolves of the night" and "challenge days" and "Citizen G" and "shirt of your solution Wolf" and "militia Love" and "Mutanabi." And participated in many radio series and art festivals Arabic.

Artist Karim Mohsen confirms he learned a lot at the hands of his teachers, artists at the college including: Qassim Mohammed, and Behnam Michael, and professors of the Egyptians, and presented with his collection of theatrical works that are considered distinct, and then continued to provide theatrical works and radio and television with the National Troupe for instance.

Of the highlights of his plays: "The Mummy" and "Othello" and "security and security A" and "Hamlet without Hamlet" and "Acrobat", as featured in the representation of different roles in the series "Declaration of Love" and "shanty houses" and "Sheikha "and" Qanbar Ali. "

Most of the sitcoms that Karim Mohsen portrayed participated in Damascus, where he lives the artist since 2006 after he had to leave Iraq because of the violence. The artist asserts that Syria has witnessed over the past years a revival of the Iraqi drama, and for several reasons, including safety, which misses the Iraqis artists in Iraq, and the availability of production and new technologies in the imaging elements and provide electricity continuously.

Artist Karim Mohsen believes that the work environment in Syria do not feel alienated Iraqi artists are even close to the Iraqi airspace, it is believed that man sometimes feels alienated until he was inside his home.
