يحكى لنا الكاتب عن قصه حب بين طرفين. الطرف الاول دكتور سعدواوى دكتور المخ والاعصاب الذى يكتشف اصابة زوجته بمرض خطير فى مجال تخصصه ويعرف ان هناك علاج جديد بالخارج فيسافر ليحضر لها العلاج فى رحلة محفوفه بالمخاطر. الطرف الثانى دكتورة المخ والاعصاب شيماء التى تتحدث فى مذكرتها عن حبها لزميلها فى العمل وكيف تقف الظروف ضدها ليجتمع الحبيببن. الاحداث سريعه بدون مط او تطويل ، أسلوب الكاتب مشوق ولا يخلو من الاثاره.
يبدو ان الحياة لن تستقيم الا بوجود الألم فيها
تساءلت يوما ماذا سيكون شكل ايامك، لو لم تؤلمك ضروسك؟ انكسرت ساقك بلا ألم؟ نلت 24 لكمة و قلت كمان؟ انفجرت الزائدة بدون آلامها الرهيبة؟

و كذلك نتعرف على ثمن ضغط الكل على الفتاة المصرية لتتزوج مهما ارتفع شأنها العلمي.
و اتوقع ان فتيات كثيرات سيغتظن كثيرا من النهاية المتفردة حقا لهذه الرواية
