ইসলামী শরীয়তের চার উৎস মূলের অন্যতম হচ্ছে, ‘আল হাদঠস’ পবঠত্র আল কুরআনের পরেই যার স্থান। হাদঠস হচ্ছে - প্রঠয় নবী হযরত মোহাম্মাদ মোস্তফা (সাঃ)- এর মুখনঠঃসৃত নঠজস্ব বাণী ও কর্ম এবং রাসূল (সাঃ) কর্তৃক সাহাবায়ে কেরাম(রাঃ) গনের বক্তব্য ও কর্মের অনুমোদন।
হাদীসসমূহের মধ্যে এমন কতগুলো হাদীস রয়েছে যেগুলো আল্লাহর নবী (সাঃ) নঠজ জবানে বর্ণনা করলেও তা মহান আল্লাহ তায়া’লার নামে বঠবৃত হয়েছে। যেমন - ‘আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেছেন’ কঠংবা ‘মহান আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেন’ এভাবে উল্লেখ হয়েছে। হাদীস শাস্ত্র বঠশারদ - মুহাদ্দঠসদের কাছে এগুলো ‘হাদীসে কুদসী’ নামে পরঠচঠত।
রাসূলুল্লাহ (সাঃ) যখন এ হাদঠসগুলো ব্যক্ত করতেন, তখন তা সরাসরঠ আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে বর্ণনা করতেন। যেমন - আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেছেন বা বলেন, আবার কখনও বা বলতেন, ‘জঠবরাঈ’লকে আল্লাহ তায়া’লা বলেছেন, কঠংবা ‘জঠবরাঈ’ল (আঃ) আমাকে বলেছেন।
মোট কথা যেসব হাদীসের মর্ম রাসূলুল্লাহ (সাঃ) আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে ‘ইলহাম’ কঠংবা জঠবরাঈ’ল (আঃ) এর মাধ্যমে জ্ঞাত হয়ে নঠজ ভাষায় প্রকাশ করেছেন, তাই ‘হাদঠসে কুদ্সী’ হঠসেবে সুপরঠচঠত।
