พระราชธรรมนิเทศ (พยอม กลฺยาโณ) เป็นเจ้าอาวาส วัดสวนแก้ว ตั้งอยู่ตำบลบางเลน อำเภอบางใหญ่ จังหวัดนนทบุรี แต่เดิมวัดนี้ชื่อ "วัดแก้ว" เป็นวัดร้างมา 80 ปี จนกระทั่งหลวงพ่อเทียน จิตฺตสุโภ และพระภิกษุอีก 3-4 รูป ได้เข้ามาพำนักแต่พื้นที่ของวัดเต็มไปด้วยสวนต่างๆ หลวงพ่อไม่สามารถจะบูรณะได้ เพราะขาดบุคลากร ที่จะช่วย พัฒนา เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2521 พระพยอม กัลยาโณ และเพื่อนพระภิกษุอีก 2 รูปได้เดินทางมาจากสวนโมกขพลาราม เพื่อขอทำโครงการบวชเณร ภาคฤดูร้อนที่วัดแห่งนี้ หลังจากนั้นในปี พ.ศ. 2522 หลวงพ่อได้มอบหมายให้พระพยอมและเพื่อนพระภิกษุเป็นผู้ดูแลรักษาวัดเนื่องด้วยหลวงพ่อ เทียนนั้นดำริจะเดินทางกลับจังหวัดเลย
ต่อมาภายหลังจึงได้เปลี่ยนชื่อวัดเป็น "วัดสวนแก้ว" และได้จัดตั้ง "มูลนิธิสวนแก้ว" ขึ้น โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์หลัก 3 ประการ คือ
เพื่อเผยแผ่ศีลธรรมในศาสนา
เพื่อสนับสนุนให้กำลังใจแก่ผู้กระทำความดี
เพื่อส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้คนดีมีสัมมาชีพ
ในปี พ.ศ. 2548 “มูลนิธิสวนแก้ว” ได้ถูกรับรองเป็น “องค์กรสาธารณประโยชน์” (ทะเบียนเลขที่ 0163) ตามความในมาตรา 34 แห่งพระราชบัญญัติส่งเสริมการจัดสวัสดิการสังคม พ.ศ. 2546 เมื่อวันที่ 6 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2548 ภายใต้ของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการจัดสวัสดิการสังคมแห่งชาติ กระทรวงพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์หลัก 6 ประการ คือ
1) เพื่อเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา
2) เพื่อส่งเสริมศีลธรรม จรรยาอันดี
3) เพื่ออนุรักษ์และส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรมและประเพณีไทย
4) เพื่อร่วมมือกับองค์การการกุศลอื่น ๆ เพื่อสาธารณประโยชน์
5) ไม่ดำเนินการเกี่ยวข้องกับการเมืองแต่อย่างใด
6) จัดการศึกษาและส่งเสริมการศึกษา
