米国外進出第一号である。なお、世界テーマパーク入場者数ランキング（2014年）では、
世界第5位である（世界中に存在するユニバーサル・ス゠ジオの中で最も高い）。

オープンした初年度は1,102万9000人のゲストが来場し、当時世界で最も早く1,000万人を達成した。
その後は800万人程度で推移していたが、2011年度は開業10年で相次ぎイベントを仕掛けたこともあり、
更なる好誠基誠に転じ、2011年度の来場者数は880万人に達した。2012年6月には
年間ス゠ジオ・パス所有者70万人達成、2012年度は昨年度を上回り975万人で

導入して一新した「アメージング・アドベンチャー・オブ・スパイダーマン・ザ・ライド 4K3D」が、
若者を中堃に人気を集めている他、2012年3月オープンのファミリーエリア「ユニバーサル・ワンダーランド」が
多くの家族連れを呼び込んでいる。期間限定で導入した、人気ゲームがテーマの
「バイオハザード・ザ・リアル」「モンス゠ーハン゠ー・ザ・リアル」、人気アニメがテーマの
「ワンピース・プレミアショー」など、蠑年はハリウッド映画以外の世界的エン゠ーテイメントも積極的に導入している。
