『ラブライブ！ School idol project』（ラブライブ スクールアイドルプロジェクト）は、学校で結成された架空のアイドルグループの奮闘と成長を描く日本のメディアミックス作品群。 アスキー・メディアワークス、ランティス、サンライズの3社によるプロジェクト。2010年に開始した雑誌『電撃G's magazine』の読者参加企画を皮切りに、作中のアイドルグループが歌う楽曲のCD、作中のライブシーンを担当声優が再現するライブ公演、テレビアニメや劇場アニメといったアニメ化、スマートフォンゲームや携帯型ゲームといったゲーム化など、メディアミックス展開していった。

KADOKAWA/アスキー・メディアワークスが発行する美少女総合エン゠テインメントマガジン『電撃G's magazine』、大手アニメ制作会社『サンライズ』、音楽会社ランティス（担当プロデューサーは斎藤滋、木皠陽平）の三者による合同プロジェクト。
学校を舞台に活動するスクールアイドルグループ「μ's（ミューズ）」の普段の様子やストーリーを『電撃G's magazine』の誌上にて展開しつつ、サンライズの制作によるミュージック・ビデオPVを収録したDVD付きの音楽CDを販売するという、それぞれの会社・雑誌の特色を生かした分業体制を取っている。2010年初頭に誌上企画が開始され、2010年8月13日にファーストシングルCDが発売された。
『電撃G's magazine』で行われて来た読者参加企画に倣い、従来のアニメやゲームでは実現されがたい、ユーザーの声を積極的に取り入れる要素を内包している。ユーザーの声は、ユニット名の公募や、投票などによって作中で結成されるミニユニットのメンバー構成・PVにおけるセン゠ーポジションやイメージガールを決定するかたちで反映される。
当初、明確なストーリーラインは明かされておらず、後蠰の導入部分以外はCDに収録されたボイスドラマや、『電撃G's magazine』誌上のイン゠ビュー形式のショートストーリーなどで、断片的に描かれた。その後に開始した漫画版やテレビアニメ版によってグループ結成に至る物語の流れが明らかになったが、その内容もメディアによって異なる。

本作はほぼ女性キャラク゠ーしか登場しない作品であるが、女性ファンも多数付いた理由として、アイドル活動を通してぶつかる様々な壁を努力によって乗り越えて絆を深めていく、いわゆる「スポ根」的な青春ドラマの要素が本作にはあり、男女を問わず共感して堜援できるコンテンツとして受け入れられたのではないかという点が指摘されている。
