杜爾德洋行 APPLICATION description
品牌名稱"杜爾德洋行"是取自清朝來台灣第一個將
台灣茶行銷全世界的英國人JOHN DODD 約砰杜
爾德。杜爾德洋行將發揚DODD先生的精神，尋訪
世界各地最有歷史傳扠的製茶廠，並將這些最好的
茶推廣至全球。
約砰·杜爾德，為蘇格蘭商人，被稱為「台灣烏龍茶
之父」，為清末北台灣外商領袖。1860年杜爾德首
次抵達台灣，1864年再度抵台，考察樟腦與茶葉市
場，認為深具潛力。1865年由中國福建引進安溪茶
在台北丘陵地試種，成效良好，並在淡水設立寶順
洋行，為駐淡水代理人，1868年後引進廈門、福州
技工精製烏龍茶，同年用兩艘可能租自怡和洋行的
大型帆船，運載20萬3千磅（合2131擔）的精製茶
（安溪茶種）試銷紐約，以「Formosa Oolong」
為品牌外銷 美國紐約，品質極佳，備受歡蠎，遂引
起其他洋行、台人競相投入，開啟大稻埕的茶香歲
