“온통 숲으로 둘러싸인 곳에서 눈을 뜬 소녀,

1. 미호(임시)/17세(???세)/구미호/기억상실

어느 날 눈을 떠보니 숲으로 둘러싸인 곳에서 부상을 입은 채였다.

어느 땔감을 구하기 위해 산을 오르던 중 상처를 입은 미호를 발견하게 되고, 미호를 자신의 집으로 데려와 상처를 치료해준다. 눈을 뜬 미호가 아무것도 기억을 하지 못해, 곤란하지만 미호가 기억을 찾을 때까지 자신의 집에서 돌보기로 한다.


3. 마루/ (13세)/ 너구리소년
“여우누나. 내 색시가 되어주지 않을래?”
소월의 집에서 머물기로 한 미호가 만나는 어린 티가 다 벗겨지지 않은 아이. 외진 곳에 있어 심심했던 미호와 놀아주는 아이였지만, 그 정체는 너구리 요괴가 사람으로 둔갑한 거다. 미호의 정체를 알고 있으며, 미호를 여우 누나라고 부른다. 원래 상처 입은 미호를 소월보다 먼저 발견했었지만, 구미호 모습이었기 때문에 무서워서 도망친다. 하지만 상처를 입은 게 걱정이 돼서 다시 미호를 찾아 소월의 집까지 내려온 것이다.

4. 류하/18세/무사
“주인의 명을 따르는 것이 무사의 도리. 허나 그대의 정체를 알아버린 나는 어찌해야 된단 말이오.”
원래 노예였지만, 주인인 선화가 거둬 무사가 된다. 자신을 거둬준 선화를 끔찍이 생각하며, 주인의 병을 고치기 위해 구미호의 여우구슬이 필요하다는 말을 듣고, 선화를 호위함가 동시에 구미호를 사냥한다는 목적도 가지고 있다.
주인이 요양을 위해 소월의 집 근처로 이사 오고, 미호를 만나게 된다.

5. 태백/22세(???세)/산신령
“그대는 어이하여 다시 나를 찾아오는가. 내 것이 되기 위해서인가?”
미호가 마루를 통해 만나게 되는 인물. 그 정체는 괴팍한 성격의 산신령이며 미호가 기억을 잃기 전의 일과 미호라는 소녀에 대해서 자세히 알고 있는 눈치이다.

6. 호(狐)/19세(971살)/구미호
“이런 나약한 인간들과 어울릴 필요 없다. 나와 같이 가자.”
미호를 알고 있는 구미호. 중반부부터 등장하며 미호를 끔찍이 생각하고, 인간을 하찮게 여겨 소월을 상처 입힌다.
