사람이 이 땅에 살면서 목표로 삼아야 할 것은 자기를 지으신 하나님을 의식하고 그분께 경배와 찬양을 드리는 것입니다. 그래서 구약 성경은 하나님을 두려워하는 것이 지혜의 시작이라고 말합니다. 그런데 현시대의 하나님은 천박한 하나님, 싸구려 신으로 전락하고 말았습니다. 많은 사람들이 자기들의 헛된 상상 속에서 거룩함, 공의, 두려움이 없는 하나님을 ꠈ꾸고 자기들의 이익에 도움을 주는 하나님을 만들어 섬기고 있습니다. 우리 교회의 가장 큰 비전은 잃어버린 하나님의 영광과 위엄을 회복하는 것입니다. 그래서 성도들이 한 마음으로 성부 하나님, 성자 하나님, 성령 하나님, 이 삼위일체 하나님의 이름에 합당한 영광을 그분께 드리며 거룩함의 아름다움 속에서 위대하신 하나님께 경배하는 것입니다(시29:2). 어떤 이의 표현대로 ‘불타는 마음으로 하나님을 추구하는 교회’가 되는 것이 우리 교회의 첫째 비전입니다.
