저는 1999년부터 정신과 의사로서 일을 하기 시작하여 2003년 이후로는 대학병원과 대학교, 정신과 전문병원,
개인병원에서 진료, 연구, 교육 현장에 있다가 좀 더 나은 환경에서 새롭게 개원을 하게 되었습니다.
현대인들은 다양한 이유로 정신건강의 문제를 만나게 되며 이로 인해 고통과 상처, 외로움 등을 경험합니다.
서양의 경우는 정신과 상담이 아주 자연스러운 반면, 아직도 우리 사회에는 편견과 오해로 적절한 진단과
치료를 받지 못하고 힘든 시간을 보내는 분들이 많습니다.
다행히 최근에는 일상생활에 지장이 없는 경증인 경우는 정신보건법상 정신질환에서 제외되었습니다.
따라서 그 동안 정신적인 스트레스가 심해도 기록에 남을까 봐 상담 받기를 꺼려했던 많은 분들에게 반가운 일이
아닐 수 없습니다.
