ASNI Amharic OCR & TTS

ASNI is the first and currently only mobile application of its kind. ASNI is a unique mobile application that allows you to scan Amharic text by simply taking a picture of it. ASNI (Amharic text to Speech & optical character recogNItion) allows visually impaired, foreigners, children, illiterates, people who suffer from dyslexia and many others to understand Amharic text using an innovative Amharic Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine and a unique Text to Speech mechanism. ASNI is able to simply read out loud any printed Amharic text after scanning it either using the dedicated app camera, the mobile’s own camera or an existing image from your gallery. The app allows you to rotate, adjust the brightness and crop the text you want to extract. You can also then translate the text you scan with ASNI into over 100 languages using Google Translate. ASNI also allows you to share the scanned text via a variety of mediums including SMS, email, and other 3rd party chatting applications. The best part about ASNI is that all the OCR and TTS processing is done OFFLINE right on your mobile phone. ASNI also allows you to initiate scanning by simply shaking your phone.
