3D anatomy teamLabBody2021 APPLICATION description

Unity Awards-winning 3D human anatomy app supervised by medical professor!
teamLabBody2021 is the 3D human anatomy app, including muscles, bones, blood vessels, nerves, and ligaments, as well as organs and the brain. Thousands of 3D models and descriptions will help medical professionals, students, and all people with an interest in the human body.

teamLabBody2020 offers you the 3D models based on MRI imaging data, covering the entire body. Our app will help understand the structure of the human body intuitively. You can use it as a reference, instead of an anatomy atlas.

■ Primary features

・Ability to seamlessly dissect the human body
You can take a high-level view of the whole body and observe the details of organs intuitively.
We adopted the Unity game engine for interaction and won the Unity Award, a first for Japanese developers.

・Modeling of live humans
We analyzed MRI image data from multiple subjects and created 3D models using data averaged from differing bone lengths, muscle sizes, and organ forms.

■ teamLabBody Development Background
The research team of Kazuomi Sugamoto, an orthopedics professor of Orthopedic Biomaterial Science at Osaka University, developed the world's first method to analyze the movements of living humans in 3D for the treatment of orthopedic ailments in 1998. They revealed the joint movements that people made based on their own will were different from those of the cadavers used to inform traditional medical texts.
They gathered 20-30 research collaborators, and used CTs and MRIs to photograph the shapes and movements of all joints in living humans over the course of 10 years, analyzed the still images using a computer program, and visualized every muscle, nerve, blood vessel, bone, and joint in the human body.
