Alarm Assist APPLICATION description
Alarm Assist is made for people with reduced hearing, to help recognize Alarms.
Alarm Assist is a tool for people with hearing difficulties, aiming to help them recognize sudden change in sound levels such as Fire Alarms, or any other type of audible alarms.
The app measures the ambient sound levels, and vibrates once it reaches a critical point, defined by the user. The app is running in the background by default, however the user can change this in settings. This is very useful in hotels during the night, or even at home, if the necessary external equipment is not provided to convert sound waves to physical motion. Our solution is an extremely affordable version of the highly priced devices, with limited capabilities.
** Please note that microphone sensitivity varies by device. While we are working to improve and calibrate the app as much as possible, there can be significant differences between devices, caused by manufacturer settings or even phone cases. Maximum values can be limited by the device, as the microphones are calibrated for normal human voice. Please use our app as an auxiliary tool, not a replacement of a professional sound meter or sensor.
