AlertJack

Summon help from family, friends and people nearby. AlertJack lets you send alerts when you need help or in a difficult situation. You can trigger an alert even when the app is not running in the foreground by pulling your headset jack. You can cancel the alert by reinserting and pulling it out once more. This should be an easy to learn routine. Even after initiating an alert you still have 40 seconds to cancel it by drawing a preset pattern. Your phone will buzz every 5 seconds to let you know an alert is imminent so that you can avoid accidentally triggering alerts. When an alert does go out, your phone will first send text messages with your location to your designated emergency contacts. At the same time it will summon help from nearby AlertJack users. Users can respong if they are able to help or not. By default it notifies the 3 closest users. If not enough people confirm then we'll notify some extra users nearby to improve the chance that someone will be able to help. You can preset your emergency contacts to be notified when you need help. To include your location is optional. There are also settings to determine who you allow to respond to your alert. It can be FB friends only or all AlertJack users.
