Anand (pronounced [aːnənd̪]) is a name of Indian origin, derived from the Sanskrit abstract noun आनन्द (ānand), which means happiness. Ananda Yoga Studios, a franchise with three locations, began when the award-winning Ananda Hot Yoga Aurora opened its doors in September 2009. The unpretentious little studio offered hot and lightly heated yoga classes of various styles by certified instructors. Group classes, private lessons and educational workshops meet the needs of students of all levels of ability. Since the closing of Hot Yoga Aurora due to unforeseen circumstances, Melissa and team decided to carry the Ananda Yoga brand with us to new heights. Ananda Yoga prides itself on creating a fun, safe and supportive environment in which students can learn, explore and deepen their yoga practice.
