Le Muséum‐Aquarium propose du 31 mai au 2 octobre 2016, Antarctica, une exposition de 34 photographies de Pascal Bourguignon prises sur le continent Antarctique en février 2015 à l’aide d’un appareil photographique numérique Pentax 645Z 51 Mpix.

Cette exposition est mise en scène par l’équipe du Muséum‐Aquarium dans une ambiance sonore conçue par Boris Jolivet, spécialiste des sons produits par la nature.

Photographe professionnel, Pascal Bourguignon est un spécialiste des pays nordiques souvent associés à des conditions climatiques difficiles. Il a ainsi pu réaliser plusieurs voyages, aussi bien en Finlande, en Islande qu’au Spitzberg.

En février 2015, il participe a une expédition en Antarctique, un continent lointain et peuplé d’animaux n’ayant pratiquement jamais côtoyé l’Homme. Il embarque sur un bateau de 30 mètres de long avec une groupe d’une dizaine de passionnés et sillonne durant 3 semaines des sites remarquables de la Péninsule Antarctique jusqu’à la Baie Marguerite, dans lesquels il peut observer et photographier une nature sauvage et complètement vierge, à l’exception de quelques bases scientifiques. Au retour de cette expédition, avec quelques milliers d’images, il choisi de sélectionner les photographies en noir et blanc qui permettent de leur donner une dimension intemporelle, renforcée par l’absence de traces dues aux activités humaines.

La démarche photographique de Pascal Bourguignon est de témoigner d’un instantané des paysages de la péninsule antarctique, qui la plupart du temps sont ponctués d’une touche de vie, donnée par les animaux qui y vivent.

L'exposition est constituée de 34 images très grand format (1x1m ; 1x1,5m ; 1x2m) et d'une cloison géante de 3,8x5m.

The Museum-Aquarium offers from May 31 to October 2, 2016, Antarctica, an exhibition of 34 photographs of Pascal Bourguignon taken in Antarctica in February 2015 using a digital camera Pentax 645Z 51 Mpix.

This exhibition is staged by the Museum-Aquarium of the team in a soundscape designed by Boris Jolivet, specializing in sounds produced by nature.

Professional photographer Pascal Bourguignon is a specialist in the Nordic countries often associated with severe weather conditions. He was able to make several trips, both in Finland, Iceland at Spitsbergen.

In February 2015, he participated in an expedition to Antarctica, a distant continent and populated by animals that are almost never rubbed Man. He embarks on a boat 30 meters long with a group of ten people and travels during three weeks of the remarkable sites of the Antarctic Peninsula to the Bay Marguerite, where he can observe and photograph a wild and completely blank, except for some scientific basis. Returning from this expedition, with several thousand images, he chose to select the black and white photographs that can give them a timeless dimension, reinforced by the absence of traces due to human activities.

The photographic approach of Pascal Bourguignon is to witness a snapshot of the landscape of the Antarctic Peninsula, which mostly are punctuated with a touch of life given by the animals that live there.

The exhibition consists of 34 pictures extra large (1x1m; 1x1,5m, 1x2m) and a giant wall 3,8x5m.
