Autobedrijf Streppel

Op 1 maart 1976 zijn vader en zoon Streppel begonnen met het autobedrijf aan de Hooilandseweg in Roodeschool. Aanvankelijk bestond het bedrijf uit een garage met een kleine showroom erbij, primair gericht op onderhoud, reparatie en verkoop van occasions.

Vlak na de oprichting van het bedrijf volgde er al een aanvulling, het dealerschap van Lada-Zastava werd in juni 1976 binnengehaald. In het jaar 1977 werd het Lada dealerschap verruild voor het Britisch Leyland dealerschap, dit werd met name gedaan om de consument een breder programma aan te kunnen bieden.

Het Britisch Leyland dealerschap bleek succesvol te zijn en een uitbreiding van het bedrijf was noodzakelijk, dit vond plaats in 1979 toen er een grote showroom werd bijgebouwd. Gelijktijdig met de uitbreiding werd het Honda dealerschap binnengehaald. De merken Honda en Britisch Leyland werden samen gevoerd tot 1981.

In het jaar 1981 kwam voor het Britisch Leyland dealerschap het Mercedes Benz sub-dealerschap in de plaats. In 1984 werd besloten om exclusief met het Honda dealerschap door te gaan.

Na 10 jaar samen het bedrijf te hebben gevoerd, besloot in 1986 vader Streppel uit de zaak te stappen. Er volgde in het jaar 1990 een tweede uitbreiding van het bedrijf in Roodeschool, een nieuwe receptie en een magazijn werden erbij gebouwd. Deze uitbreiding had een groot voordeel, de werkplaats en showroom werden hierdoor met elkaar verbonden. De mogelijkheid was er om nog een ander merk toe te voegen, in het jaar 2000 kwam het Mazda dealerschap erbij.

Ook kwam er de intentie om een nieuw bedrijf te bouwen in Appingedam, dit is om vergunningstechnische redenen niet doorgegaan. Toch werd er in het jaar 2001 besloten om het bedrijf te gaan verhuizen naar Farmsum/Delfzijl, hoofdzakelijk werd hiervoor gekozen vanwege de centralere ligging.

Vanaf het jaar 2005 is ook zoon Mark fulltime werkzaam in het familiebedrijf, dit na afronding van zijn opleidingen. In oktober 2011 hebben wij er een fantastisch merk bij gekregen, wij zijn officieel Mitsubishi dealer geworden voor Delfzijl, Appingedam, Loppersum, Eemsmond gebied en omstreken.

There was also the intention to build a new company in Appingedam, this is to permit technical reasons did not materialize. Still, it was decided in 2001 to move the company to move to Farmsum / Delfzijl, was mainly chosen for this purpose because of its more central location.
