Ball Tester APPLICATION description
Test the rebound of footballs, basketballs, and tennis balls against the FIFA/FIBA/ITF regulations, or identify the golf balls that bounce the best. Just make a ball bounce vertically three times,
Ball Tester will detect the bounces acoustically and calculate the Coefficient of Restitution (COR), i.e. "bounciness", of the ball.
To bounce as intended, a ball should have the COR within the target range. To bring the COR of a basketball or a football within the regulations you can try to adjust its air pressure.
Note that the COR may vary slightly depending on the impact velocity. You should try to make the first bounce as close to the regulated drop height as possible. Ideally the ball should bounce straight up, so that the distance between the device and the ball remains the same in each bounce.
