Bengaluru Auto Fare 2.0 APPLICATION description
Bengaluru Auto Fare is an application for Bengaluru (Karnataka, India) based auto travelers to use during their travel in an Auto rickshaw to calculate travel fares. Travel fares are calculated based on the latest rates published by the Government of Karnataka, India. This app calculates the traveled distance based on GPS location, thus helping passenger from being looted by faulty or rigged meters of auto rickshaw.
This application can track the exact route taken by auto driver, find the pickup & drop address, calculate Day Fare and Night Fare. You can view past journeys in History tab.
Requirements:
1. Mobile should have GPS feature
2. Active Internet connection
Features:
1. Easy tabbed interface
2. On clicking Start Journey, it will clearly pin point your exact location on map.
3. If there is no Network access, passenger can at least verify if the auto meter charge is correct or not by entering the distance travelled.
4. On clicking Stop Journey, it will show up a summary page which will clearly tell how much distance was travelled and how much passenger has to pay auto driver.
5. All the journey logs are maintained for passenger's future reference.
6. Helpline numbers are also mentioned in case of any emergency.
How to use:
1. If there is no network access, then passenger can at least find out the fares by entering the distance traveled shown in auto meter.
2. If there is good network access, passenger should enter a Journey ID and click "Start Tracking" button. This will gain a GPS lock and display a Map with a Marker which is the pickup location. During the course of journey a Green marker will keep getting displayed on Map. This Green marker shows your current location while you are on the move.
3. At the end of your journey click on "Stop Tracking". This will bring up a "Summary" page which will tell you the distance traveled, Day Fare and Night Fare.
4. At any point in time if you would like to refer to your previous journey click on any listing present in "History" Page. It is advised to mention a meaningful name in Journey ID before clicking "Start Tracking". This way it will be easy to access your logs in future.

This app depends on GPS lock to work; the app may not show accurate result when traveling in places where GPS signal is poor.
