Blackwinter adalah game berbasis teks yang formatnya mirip dengan tipe buku klasik "Choose Your Own Adventure". Dimana karakter utama/ pemain akan dihadapkan pada sejumlah pilihan yang harus ditempuh dalam perjalanannya, yang tentunya akan menentukan bagaimana kelangsungan cerita selanjutnya. Dan tak jarang, pilihan yang diambil akan berujung pada kematian dari karakter utama.
Blackwinter mengambil latar cerita benua Eard-Land, dunia dimana kekuatan keajaiban yang bernama Archaic dikuasai oleh sekelompok bangsawan. Sudah pudar ingatan dari penduduk benua ini, sejak kapan mereka mulai tunduk pada kekuasaan sekelompok bangsawan tersebut.
Karakter utama adalah seorang anak angkat dari pandai besi dari suku Dwarf, yang bernama Lou. Lou memiliki masa lalu yang kelam, dimana dia mengklaim bahwa seluruh anggota keluarganya dibunuh oleh kelompok misterius yang dia namai "Manusia setengah dewa", dikarenakan kekuatan mereka yang memang mendekati kekuatan dewa. Latar belakang pembantaian keluarganya yang masih menjadi misteri, mendorongnya untuk berpetualang dan mencari tahu kebenaran dan mencari jalan untuk memperoleh kekuatan yang setara dengan hantu dari masa lalunya.
Seiring perjalanan, Lou akan bertemu dengan karakter yang juga memiliki cerita yang kompleks dan pergulatan batin sendiri. Tak hanya itu, Lou juga akan menemukan benda-benda pusaka dan berbagai macam senjata yang memiliki kisah yang unik.
Total lebih dari 4 Class yang bisa diambil. Dan lebih dari 10 macam sound effect yang akan mewarnai perjalanan Lou.

Blackwinter is a text based game format is similar to the type of the classic book "Choose Your Own Adventure".
