Simple blood pressure explanation , How to measure and do blood pressure average
This is a blood pressure application, that has two parts :
Part 1: the goal here is to make the blood pressure term easy to understand, by taking you through a series of images and facts about the body in general, what is this blood pressure that is measured.
I try to limit the use of scientific terms in these explanations, since they are abstract to most people, like using the term " Big pressure " for the " Systolic pressure ", and " Small" for " Diastolic ".
Part 2: this part has two sections, one is a step by step guide on how to take a proper blood pressure measurement, using the device with the inflatable cuff.
This explanation is the standard used world wide, to make sure that we all have the same measuring conditions.
The second and last part is the journal :
Before entering any data, make sure you set the right unit, the default is mmHG (millimeter of mercury), so if you use Kpa (kilo pascal), change first in the settings at the top.
Let's say you start the journal on Monday, you have to enter 4 values :
The big and small number of the morning reading, and the same for the evening reading.
Once you fill the whole week, save the average in the window called "Average", with the date of that day.
And repeat the process if you have to do more than a week.
The data is shown in form of a line, this way, if there is a high pressure on a day, it will stand out from the other days.
You can also compare with the hypertension limits plotted on the graph, look up more the "limits" section at the top menu for more information on this.
