Book Of Matthew - King James (KJV) Offline APPLICATION description

The book of Matthew entails the life accounts of Jesus Christ beginning with the genealogy of Christ from Abraham down to Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus Christ (Mat 1:1-17), then his birth, life ministry, death and resurrection. It is the first book in the New Testament and of the Gospels.

The book of Matthew’s uniqueness lies in its richness with the teaching statements of Jesus Christ which were not merely sayings but Jesus accompanied them by works. Many scholars consider the Sermon on the Mount as the summary of all the teaching of Jesus Christ found in chapter five of Matthew’s book:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." (Mat 5:3-12 KJV)

Matthew was a Jewish tax collector called to follow Jesus Christ and his writings were specifically aimed for the Jews. Among the four Gospels, Matthew had written perspectives on money and possessions pertaining to Jesus’ teachings such as the Parable of the Talents (Mat 25:14-30), and teaching about money and possessions (Mat 6:19-25).

Most of the book also contained references to the Old Testament Scriptures showing the fulfillment in Christ. Matthew also emphasized the sayings of the Lord Jesus Christ regarding the Kingdom of Heaven.

Although the book was written for the purpose of Jewish audience, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ is timeless and applicable even in today’s generation for Christ deals with the inner man, transforming the hearts and minds of the believers all over the world.
