O Drymophila ferruginea é uma espécie de ave da família Thamnophilidae. É endémica do Brasil.

Conhecida popularmente como dituí, formigueiro-trovoada ou simplesmente trovoada.
De modo geral as aves desta família (Thamnophilidae) vivem no sub-bosque da floresta,
em um micro-hábitat bem particular.

Seu nome científico significa: do (grego) drumos = floresta, madeira; e philos = aquele que gosta,
afeiçoado a; e do (latim) ferruginea = cor de ferrugem, ferruginoso.

Características

Atinge 14 cm de comprimento. Parte de cima do corpo preto e branco, região acima da cauda castanha,
parte de baixo do corpo cor de ferrugem. Asas pretas com pintas brancas,
cauda preta com a ponta pintada de branco. Lista branca acima e abaixo da região dos olhos.

Hábitos

Habita florestas primárias e secundárias e sub-bosques subtropicais ou tropicais
úmidas de baixa e alta altitude (800m a 1200m), muitas vezes associado a taquarais,
emaranhados de cipó e clareiras.
Pode ser observado em casais, locomovendo-se nos galhos saltando e pulando.
