Scientific name
Its scientific name means: do (Greek) sikalis, sukallis or sukalis = small; and (Latin) citrinus, citrus = lemon yellow, yellow of the color of the “citrus” stone. ⇒ Small (bird) lemon yellow or Small (bird) yellow of citrus color.

Features
Measures between 11 and 12 inches in length and weighs between 10.7 and 12.9 grams.
Males have a lemon yellow top of the head, olive back with stretch marks; the breast is yellowish but darker than the belly, which is bright yellow. Tail dark brown, with the outer edge of the feathers yellow. The final two thirds of the lateral tail feathers are white. The wings are dark brown with the feathered edge yellow. Female similar to male, but darker and striated on both back and chest; the belly is yellowish and the bars at the tail are smaller than in males. According to Helmut Sick, distinguishable by a white stain on the two outer recesses (on either side, visible to the underside of the closed tail).
He likes to sing flying, so he climbs obliquely, then descends with a melodious trill and finely lands on a stake in the pasture or a trunk. His whistle is shrill "iü"; “Tzi, tzi” and its chant is very heterogeneous: “zle, zle, zle…”, “iü”.
