It displays energy related quantities in units of kWh, Wh/km, km/kWh, mi/kWh and Wh/mi. Also calculates gasoline equivalent in mpg and L/100 km. You can observe how your driving style effects energy consumption or estimate how much energy you would be saving by switching to electric car.

Based on vehicle type and total weight data provided in settings, this app calculates energy spent by the vehicle in real time. Instant kinetic energy and estimated total quantity of energy are displayed.

Car Energy Meter works like an energy counter and can be used to estimate energy spent as if the vehicle were an electric vehicle. It will estimate an electric vehicle’s energy consumption during trip.

You can observe relative kinetic energy changes on a bar graph. Observe how your driving stile, vehicle size and weight, route parameters such as traffic or elevation change effect your energy consumption.

Trying different vehicle types and weight values in Car Energy Meter settings, you can compare total energy consumption between different vehicles.
For example if your vehicle is an SUV, you can compare energy amount that would be spent if you had a electric sedan with less weight and less air friction.

If you already own an electric car, you can estimate how would energy consumption differ if it were (for example) a minivan with more weight. Estimated air friction for different vehicle types is automatically included in calculations.

As a special type of trip computer, Car Energy Meter presents real time display of these parameters in a variety of units. Gasoline equivalent of average energy consumption is calculated in units of miles per gallon (mpg) or liters per 100 kilometres (L/100 km). These equivalent energy calculations are based on EPA guidelines.
