Prayer is the action of communicating with God, a saint, either to offer pleading, to make a request or simply to express thoughts and emotions.
From the Latin oratio, -onis. Etymologically it is an oral expression, that is, it must be expressed with language. Although there are several types of prayer, and it is not always expressed in a language of words, both verbal and mental, it can also be expressed through gestures such as dances.
