Le premier titre de Hasni enregistré à l'âge de 18 ans était un duo avec Cheba Zehouania intitulé " El baraka M’rennika ". "Le rossignol du raï" comme on l'a surnommé a sorti 150 albums dont "Galou Hasni Met" et "Gaa Nssa".
Hasni a été assassiné par les extrémistes du FIS (Front islamique du salut) en 1994, et a été enterré au cimetière Aïn Beïda d’Oran.
