On the final day there is a mid-night mass, followed by ringing of the bells ushering in the New Year. Christmas trees are erected and there is a lot of fun and merry-making.Christmas is also an occasion of family reunion. The members of a family living at different places join together to celebrate Christmas. It is a public holiday and government offices etc. are closed.
