City of Birds - Bharatpur APPLICATION description
Bharatpur Located at a distance of a mere 3 hour drive from Delhi, its a nice place with some great stay options such as Udai Villas, Lakshmi Villas Palace and Bagh Resort.
This small town has nothing much to offer but once you enter the Birds National Park its a different world all together. The lush green forests provides resident to 366 bird species, 379 floral species, 50 species of fish, 13 species of snakes, 5 species of lizards, 7 amphibian species,7 turtle species, and a variety of other invertebrates. Now thats a wow from someone who slaves (works) in closed offices.
The best part of the park is - you dont get gypsies like any other national park but you get a bicycle to travel inside the park. Dont we just love cycling in an empty road with trees/lakes on the side? No cars, no one honking or shouting, just nature, you and your bicycle.
If you dont like the idea of cycling then you can hire a rickshaw. You become a self-guide start spotting birds/fishes/turtles at every turn. Just enjoy every moment of being in the open wild Forest.
This is a good destination for those who love nature, wildlife, and are looking for a quick getaway near Delhi. Best months of visit are from October - February.
