Indian Home Remedies

Indian medical systems i.e. Ayurveda and Siddha have been in use for several thousand years. Surgery and plastic surgery were practised in India thousand years ago and modern plastic surgery was discovered by West from Indian literature.

We give below four books for home remedies for everyone. Remedies are simple and one can do them in their homes with kitchen items or simple herbs. Just because the remedy is cheap doesn't mean it is inferior to any other treatment.

Siddha system of medicines is practised in Tamilnadu and in some parts of South India. It is a good system with a lot of remedies for even hard to cure diseases.

Books 2 & 3 are primarily from Ayurveda system of medicine practised in Northern India and Kerala in South India. The author is a reputed doctor of medicine and has written several books which were popular in mid 20th century.

4. Plants of India
This was published by the personal physician to His Highness The Maha Rajah of Travancore in the year 1860. It uses Indian herbs and other material available commercially to effect cure for the diseases. One can see that it is relevant even today. He even considers water as a medicine and elaborates about the treatments.

In our opinion, people in the third world may benefit a lot as these remedies will at least give a hope of treatment where none is available.

Some on-line Indian medical shops sell many of the standard preparations mentioned in the book. There is no scope for any error as only common diseases where no specialised diagnosis or test are required.

As per Indian system, for taking medicines, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday or considered auspicious.
