Communication Toolbox

The Communication Toolbox app is a unique app that was developed for children with autism, developmental delays, and can be used by neurotypical children too.

Communication Toolbox was designed and developed by two behavioral therapists (Talisha Sachlis & Dezira Carpentier) with specialized experience in children diagnosed with autism. The dedication and design of the app includes a combination of thirty years of experience.

The app is designed for Behavioral Therapists, Speech Therapists, Teachers, and Parents. The target audience is individuals with autism and developmental delays. The app can also be beneficial for enhancing language for typically developing children.

Communication Toolbox contains two levels on Android devices 7 inch or greater. There are two modes, guided and auto. For auto mode the default password is : 1234

Level One
Level one teaches children to identify over 1,100 common items by selecting the spoken word. This level is designed to increase a child’s receptive language skills.

Level Two
Level two targets over 1,100 common items by their functions, their features, and their classifications. For example, a child learns that a ” ball ” can be thrown, rolled, kicked (function), it’s round (feature), and it’s a type of toy (classification). This level is designed to further expand a child’s receptive language skills.

-Contains over 1,100 pictures
-Two to three variations for most pictures
-Variations include appearance, object size, and different backgrounds to promote generalization
-Allows users to select a targeted item and up to five distractors to be presented on the screen
-Varied commands given to identify the targeted item
-Reinforcement will be given for correct responses
-May also be enjoyed in an auto play mode
-Progress is tracked on an assessment report and can be exported
-Picture cards in this program will support language skills taught in common ABA programs
-Additional communication categories may be purchased as add-ons

Note:- This App is designed for tablets 7 inch or greater. Though, it might run on smaller phones, it has been tested for tablets only.
