The Convict Road App brings the history of the Old Great North Road World Heritage site alive. Hear from National Parks and Wildlife Service Ranger Sarah Brookes, discover the secrets of the Old Great North Road and immerse yourself in the past as you follow in the footsteps of the convicts, soldiers and government officials who built the Road. Featuring two walks, short films about the convict experience and expert commentary, this App is a must for anyone interested in Australia’s convict past.
The Convict Road 'Just for Kids' Tour tells the story of the convicts and the construction of the Old Great North Road through the eyes of two animated characters; Denis, a flea and Dorothy the antechinus, a native marsupial mouse. To be enjoyed in tandem with the Live the History and Present Day tour children can enjoy 22 separate animated videos as they follow Denis and Dorothy along Devines Hiil and Finchs Line and listen to their funny and dramatic tales.
