Cranberry Lake was originally formed in 1830 to serve as a reservoir for the Morris Canal. In the 1920’s, the Cranberry Lake Development Company built vacation homes at Cranberry Lake. In response to the recreational needs to the residents of the vacation homes, the Cranberry Lake Community Club (CLCC) was established in 1924. Today, Cranberry Lake boasts many year-round homes as well as numerous vacation homes and also maintains a quality program of activities and services through scheduled events and organized programs.
