Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority’s DART on Demand service provides curb-to-curb, on-demand shared transportation within a designated zone in Ankeny, IA! Service is available on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Connect to DART’s fixed route bus service, shop, work, learn and play. DART on Demand is a ridesharing service that’s convenient, easy and affordable.

The DART On Demand app makes it easier than ever to get where you need to go - with a few taps, book a ride using the app and DART will match you with a vehicle going your way.

What does on-demand mean?
It means you can get a ride when you need it, in real-time. You don’t have to schedule your ride in advance.

How does DART On Demand work?
Start by downloading the DART On Demand app, then create an account using your name, phone number and email address. Confirm your location and input your destination to see the ride options. Then, book your ride and track it in real time.

Who is driving the buses?
Professionally trained drivers from DART will operate the buses.

How long will I wait?
It depends on your trip and the time of day - estimated wait times will be anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. An accurate estimate of your wait time will be provided before you book your trip. You will be able to track the vehicle location in real-time using the DART On Demand app.

Why are you offering this new service?
Offering on-demand rides allows DART to be more efficient and effective. DART On Demand replaced an on-call service where rides needed to be booked in advance. DART on Demand offers more flexibility and expanded hours of operation.
