We have all either been there or watched the scene unfold on television or film. You know, the scene when the family pile in the car ready for what seems to be a journey of some length. When the car left the road someone turns Dad (usually driving) and inquired about directions to their destination. With a voice just a little more confidence than needed a father figure replies that they do not need to worry because he knows exactly how to get where they are going. Unfortunately we all know that this scene usually ends with a family stranded in some locations are dark and foreboding with Dad still believes he knows where he's going.

Modern GPS technology has all but eliminated this archetype scenes from movies or television situation at this time but the bigger problem remains. In many situations a very modern, GPS though, making a mess of things can still happen when adequate planning forgotten or ignored.
