Dominant Techniques !!!

"In order to be a Master, you must be a servant first!" We are all here to inspire others in some way or another! At a young age, Donta Rice, decided to live by this motto. In 1995, the conception and formation of who is known today as Dominant Techniques began. Haircuts prior to 1995 were performed by DT-Dominant Techniques, the originators and Donta’s parents. It was then that Donta began to teach himself how to "cut hair. Well, at least that was the objective. Not to necessarily practice , but to actually become a Professional Barber. It was then that Donta began by cutting his own hair as well as his immediate family. Over time, Donta’s style changed based on trial and error . It was then that he began to develop his own style and technique. "I never learned by sitting in Barbershops and or watching other barbers. I did things my way, staying true to the overall art of hair-cutting. I knew I must have been doing something right and well because the end result was absolutely positive; my following was increasing.

Donta not only cut hair while he was in college, but he did such while in high school as well ( Donta obtained a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a Minor in Management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He has worked for several Fortune 500 companies assisting with process improvement and cost saving initiatives) Fast forward... Donta continued to cut hair as well as Engineer at the same time. Then he took a leap of faith by deciding to make his dream a reality; he decided to attend and graduated from Barber College; Larry's Barber College in Chicago, Illinois. It was then that he realized that he no longer “cuts” hair. He remembers exclaiming, "I am a Licensed Professional Barber!"

Donta has competed in several hair shows including the Barber's Ball. He volunteer his time and abilities via community projects. The future is limitless for LEGENDARY CUTS, INC, AKA Dominant Techniques! The Brand continues to find new innovative ways to perform quality services and to increase the education of those who desire to enter the industry. Teaching has been an instrumental component and is believed that it will improve not only the internal Dominant Techniques’ team, but the external team as well;(clients and other professionals.
