Doont Panic APPLICATION description
A unique social networking app for lost and found items. Be saved or become a hero in somebody else's life. The more people download and install this app the more effective the whole project becomes. This app will help you find lost personal items, pets that have gone stray or even missing people. The radius of people you wish to address can be set in meters or kilometers thus maximizing the probability of reaching the right person.
How Doontpanic works. After downloading the app, click the Settings icon in upper right corner and enter the following: the radius of the area where you seek the help or the radius of the area where you can provide help. Either field can be adjusted at any time. For example: if you lost a purse or mobile phone in the club, the perimeter of the area will be considerably smaller as opposed to the area your dog might have covered since he's gone missing.
When asking for help under 'LOST' you can even upload a photo of your lost dog or a cat, item or a person. The app has a built-in GPS tracker that will automatically locate your position and inform other people, with installed Doontpanic, of your situation. However your name and location will not be revealed. Only the user who found your lost item can contact you by sending you a message secured by a control question. This is there to prevent fraud and abuse of the app. If you correctly answer the control question the app will connect you with the other person and contact info of both persons will be displayed. We strongly suggest you stay safe and the meeting is arranged at a public place with the presence of a third person.
The app's FOUND function is there when you come across somebody's lost item, stray pet, or a disoriented person (the app can be put in action when looking for missing kids or even wanted persons). You enter the description of the found item but the item itself will not be displayed to other users. Notification will be sent only to the user who filed a missing item request around the same time, in the same location and in the same category. This function is there for the same reason as above. To prevent the fraud and abuse of the app.
In case you wish to publish your request for a lost item but do not wish to make the request public, simply uncheck the option PUBLIC.
Part of Doontpanic is also a function represented by EXCLAMATION MARK used in urgent situations when you want to inform the public about an important event in the area, ie. flash floods, tornadoes, car breakdowns, brawls, riots, concerts or something as simple as spotting a public transport ticket inspector.
A function represented by HEART is for all of those moments when you meet someone interesting but in an inconvenient situation.
Your privacy and personal information are protected and will not be shared with a third party.
In cases we suspect a user is abusing the app, this user will be banned and in severe cases we will inform the authorities.
