Startul editiei 2014 a acestui raliu umanitar se da pe 19 iulie la Londra. Ca la fiecare editie, toate echipajele sunt pe cont propriu, organizatorii nu asigura asistenta tehnica sau medicala.
Sunt asteptate peste 350 echipaje.
Editia inaugurala a avut loc in 2004, 6 echipaje dintre care 4 au reusit sa termine cursa. A doua editie, in 2005, a adunat la start 43 echipaje iar 18 au ajuns intacte la Ulan Bator.
