Drink Companion APPLICATION description
Use this application to measure and monitor your Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) value.
About BAC:
BAC gives an indication of the relative amount of alcohol or ethanol present in your body.
Police measure an individuals BAC by use of a breathalyzer and take action if the measured value is greater than a certain fixed legal limit (this limit varies from country to country).
What this application does:
Drink Companion uses a mathematical formula (Widmark's formula) to calculate the BAC of an individual based on drinks consumed and time elapsed since drinking.
The application even calculates calories present in the drink and takes these into account along with the weight of the individual to give an accurate measure of BAC.
This will let you know when you are sober and when it is safe for you to drive.
Why this application:
The application interface is simple to use allowing you to add drinks at the press of a single button for up to four PRESET DRINKS.
The application LEARNS the drinks you prefer and make these more visible and easy to select.
The home page also displays time to wait till your BAC will return to the legal level allowing you to drive.
A 'DRINK DIARY' is present that keeps a record of all your drinks and calories consumed along with certain other useful statistics.
A graph of your body's BAC level is present powered by Graph View.
Drink Companion uses an ACCURATE mathematical model for calculating BAC that has been tested in practice against a breathalyzer and is approved by the traffic police of the city of Hyderabad, India.

The 12 steps and 12 practices as followed by ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS have been added on a separate page. Drink Companion now gives you the option of setting up a sponsor who will be automatically notified when your BAC crosses a certain threshold limit that may be unsafe for you.
The 12 steps, the Drink Diary and the sponsor option are great ways of monitoring drink intake.
