DSWD ASIGN is about communication of visual content under critical conditions and not about pictures. It is made for rapid and robust field input of visual data, from an app to a dedicated ASIGN
server. DSWD ASIGN will help provide information about WHAT happens, WHEN it happens and WHERE, as part of operations which are based on OBSERVE - DECIDE - ACT.
DSWD ASIGN visual information is relevant for situational awareness and decision-making during critical operations such as crisis, emergency disaster management and in security and surveillance, remote inspection, quality management and interactions between decision makers and observers.
DSWD ASIGN mission-critical photo and video communications is fundamentally different from traditional approaches:
- It is a system of geo-referenced visual communications that allows users to focus network resources on content that is relevant for operations.
The communication becomes fast - easily 100 times faster than sending photos in full resolution, but via interactive communications from the receiver side, any region of interest in a photo can be pulled in up to full quality as needed for operations.
